Natural and candid wedding storytelling for the relaxed, the chilled and the BOLD…

Natural and candid wedding storytelling for the relaxed, the chilled and the BOLD…
{or all 3, if you’re greedy!}
I’m from & live in Leicestershire, in a little Edwardian terrace with my partner that we are slowly {but surely} renovating.
I love to travel, collect antique books that I never read, snack too much, and play board games with friends…
Many {all} of these activities usually involve wine.
I also love anything to do with Harry Potter and discount will most definitely be given for any HP themed weddings that come my way…
…OH, AND ONE ALSO APPRECIATES A BANGING CUP OF TEA!
Dark, no sugar, dairy-free milk {sighs}…
PREPARATIONS: The cute bit! - the getting ready, the details of the pieces you have chosen to wear on your day, and the people you have chosen to get ready with
CEREMONY: Candid and natural shots of you, saying the good ol’ ‘I DO’
CONFETTI: Me walking backwards while people throw things at you
GROUP SHOTS: Me cattle-herding people that don’t listen, into places they don’t want to go… {true story}
COUPLE SESSION: The romantic bit! - around 15-20 mins of me lurking while you have your first moment of peace
CANDID TIME: Natural and unobtrusive imagery throughout the canapés, wedding breakfast, speeches and whatever else you’ve chosen until the evening…
CAKES & CARNAGE: Depending on our timeline, it’s cake and first dance shots before my exit, or shuffling onto the dance floor and capturing those moments! {IYKYK!}
I’m a Documentary Photographer, which means for the main part, I capture things naturally. However, I do help out with group shots, making you look awesome, and bringing the fun, wherever needed or necessary.
Although I’m predominantly a Wedding Photographer, I also capture:
Events & Parties | Corporate | Families | Pets | Couples | Maternity | Proposals | Properties | Band & Theatre Photography
So basically, everything…
I have the same relaxed and photo-journalistic approach throughout any job that comes my way, and like to focus on the emotion, details and vibe.
I’ve been doing this since 2014, when I finally plucked up the courage to get up and give it a shot, after graduating from Photography & Digital Imagery a couple of years before. It’s ironic really, when I was studying I wanted to go into fashion or art photography, or basically anything but weddings! But low and behold, somehow this is where I found my passion and my happiness, after helping out a friend on a very small budget.
I’m also a Libra, and one of the most common things you will found written about Librians is that they are in love with the idea of love. So just maybe, that’s why this industry appeals to me so much. It’s probably also the reason I cry at pretty much every wedding I go to, working or as a guest. So for that, I apologise in advance.
The other reason, I am sure of…
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DETAILS!
We’ll all remember the beautifully sunny day, the food {this might just be me}, the venue, and that wine that we really shouldn’t have had so much of, but what about the silk buttons on the back of the dress that your sister fastened with a crochet hook? The delicate flowers your stylist weaved into your hair? And the table plan that you worked until midnight on to get just right?
That is where documentary wedding photography holds the magic for me; and I want to capture it all.
I will be bossy once…for the group shots. Just because no-one ever listens to the photographer! OK maybe twice, because the same can definitely be said for the confetti shot. However, other than that, I am pretty laid back and will happily mooch around and watch the day unfold, blending into the background to document all those happy and natural moments - and of course, terrorising ANYONE who tries to hide if they see me coming…
Next we arrange a little consultation…
You can arrange this by sending a message on the Contact Me page or on the page relating to the device you require - weddings, event, family photo shoot etc.
A ‘consultation’ is usually a casual phone call to discuss what you are looking for in a photographer, to go through the details and timeline of your day, and to see if we’re naturally a good fit.
*I must stress it is very important to get on well with your Photographer; they are potentially with you for a LONG time!
However, if you’re not at this stage yet, it could just be a conversation about what you’re looking for, help with how much cover you need, and to check pricing / packages etc.
A deposit of £395 is required to secure your date; the rest is not due until 4 weeks prior to the day itself.
The deposit is taken after you’ve confirmed that you’d like me to capture your day, and you’ve read your potential contract to make sure you’re happy with everything.
I’m really not one for blowing my own trumpet, but there are a couple of good points…
I’m quite an affordable wedding photographer; I feel no need to add any hidden digits because I’m in the wedding industry!
I care about my couples and the work I produce, which is why I include a free Engagement Shoot with my ‘full day’ Wedding Package: -
This allows me to get to know you better before the BIG DAY and also see how you interact with each other and how best to photograph you.
I personally find it very daunting to be put in front of a lens (even if it’s just for one photo), but it’s my job to make you feel relaxed.
By the time we’ve had a consult and engagement shoot, you’ll forget I’m here playing paparazzi, and think of me more along the lines of a wedding guest with a fancy camera.
On the day itself, I won’t be stealing your time for a million and one images of the two of you… You’ve chosen your guests for a reason; you want to spend time with them. I like to get the formalities, or, ‘group shots’ out of the way as quick as possible, getting you back to having a great time! We do this by having a clear and concise list for the day, in a particular order for the least amount of shuffling as possible. I aim to have these done in 15-20 minutes, which I think is more than enough time being away from the bar!
I am based in Wigston, Leicestershire but am happy to travel throughout the UK {and beyond} to capture the delights of your Wedding Day.
I am most frequently booked for Wedding photography in Leicestershire, Derbyshire and the West Midlands at the moment, and I also have a collaboration with a Brighton Wedding Celebrant.
Like most modern photographers, your images will come via an email link to your own personal gallery. It is password protected and totally shareable; the easiest way to show your people!
I send a ‘Sneak Peak’ link while you wait for your main gallery, usually within the first week or so.
You will receive your full gallery at a maximum of 12 weeks, but this is usually for the peak summer months.
Yeahhhhhsssss. Proud to be! Love is Love.
However, I like to work with absolutely everyone!
In all honesty, my favourite weddings are ALWAYS fusion weddings; where two families, cultures and customs collide, bringing the most joyful and colourful of days.
I also have ADHD and live in a very ‘neuro-spicy’ {IYKYK} household, so I’m well versed on neurodivergence too! Clients often come to me because of this understanding.
Of course! I also have Public Liability and Public Indemnity, just to be sure.
YES!
I give a 10% discount for Blue Light Holders {with a valid card} on a full day wedding package.
See my two packages, including pricing here!
Always.
I will never give out any details I have collected from you.
Information collected is destroyed if I am not your choice of wedding snapper!
Both your Sneak-Peak and Online Galleries are password protected also.
