A little bit about the wedding of…

ADELE X ROB

Adele & Rob tied the knot at the beautiful Derbyshire wedding venue, Donington Park Farmhouse. It’s a real stunner of a place too. So rustic, so charming & so many gorgeous quirky features that just set it apart from so many wedding venues I see.

I absolutely cannot wait to get back there.

After doing my pre-wedding rounds capturing the various untouched venue areas, I started the day with Adele in the trusty Wedding Suite for make-up & detail shots of the dresses with the Mother of the Bride & the Bridesmaids. The weather was on our side for this glorious May wedding, not a cloud in the sky, so I popped out to capture the guest arrivals because this included some awesome boules action on the courtyard and met the Groom and his Best Man for a cheeky portrait, and captured some last minute adjustments (and nail painting) & of course, the pre-wedding ring shot. I headed back in for a emotive moment between Adele & her Father before the Bridal party made there way to the ceremony.

The ceremony took place in the hugely high ceiling-ed (and very striking) barn which was aglow with an absolute smattering of lights giving it a warm and somehow intimate feel despite its size. The Groom chilled on the front row, easy breezy chatting to his parent and the guests, before the Bride walked in with her Father. The two adorned the stage for their very sweet ceremony before heading back out to the courtyard for the confetti shot, some important mingling with their family and friends, and of course, the group shots.

The Wedding Breakfast was held in the Pigsty.

Yes, you heard, the Pigsty.

This is the absolute treasure of Donington Farmhouse, and even has the original food troughs. LOVE THIS. The room was filled with bright. wild-esque florals and with the sunshine pouring through the large industrial windows, gave it even more magical meadow vibes.

Both Adele and Rob are keen cyclists, and I absolutely loved their table-plan positioned on bike wheels; in fact my favourite part of weddings are witnessing the little details that give an insight into the couple.

After the speeches, the guests chilled in the courtyards whilst I whisked the couple away for a little informal portrait session. They rocked it, obviously, chilled from start to end. We then made our way back inside for some Gaelic Scottish country dancing which seemed to really get the party started; a sentence I never thought I would say…

We ended the day with a cheeky little capture in the countryside directly opposite the venue, which is amass of rolling hills and pure greenery! We got the last of the light and finished with a gorgeous sunset silhouette as requested & as I tootled off home, they headed straight for the dancefloor…
